Default Just got an airsoft but can't use it?

Hey everybody, I just purchased an air-soft gun and recieved it yesterday, however my mom will not let me use it. She is afraid that if I shoot it in my backyard, the neighbors will call the police.

Im living in Canada,ONT.

So I can't use it indoors or bring it outside to play with my friends. Any way I could convince my mother that I am allowed to shoot it in the backyard and it is not illegal to play with it in the woods with my friends?

Well......the problem is the legality of airsoft guns where you live.

Some legal issues I have found is that in Ontario, children under the age of 18 must be supervised by someone over 18 and in order for an airsoft gun to be legal, it has to be clear.

In other words, you mother is correct.

Ask your neighbors, then they shouldn't call the police.

You won't want to here t5his, but your mother is correct. BY LAW in Ontario you cannot shoot an airsoft gun without the supervision of someone 18 or older. And in canada, airsoft guns are designated as replica firearms, otherwise if you get the cops called on you, or a cop sees you, the following will happen:

Your gun will be destroyed
You will be charged with brandishing a firearm in public.
God forbid you do anything stupid, you will be charged as if it were an actual firearm. You hit someone with it, thats assault with a deadly weapon. You hit a window and get in trouble, thats reckless endagerment.

Shoot it in the woods, way away from anyone else, better yet the farm of someone you know. But be warned, if someone does call the cops, bad things will happen. If ANYONE, ANYONE, sees you, they might call the police.

As to repond to the answer below me, in canada airsoft clubs do not admit kids under 18, we wont even sell guns to you so your stuck with Walmart-esque guns until your older.

Airsoft is almost illegal in canada, if some little kids got caught shooting a replica firearm, it could be banned forever. We do our part to make sure airsoft is still around when they grow up. It's for your own good.

Tell her that and demonstrate how the gun won't cause any real noise. Also tell her that you'll wear protective clothing and face protection every time you shoot.
