Default what part of the iron is the sweet spot?

meaning, which area, near the toe or the heel, of the iron do most pros like to hit the ball.
I was experimenting yesterday while hitting iron shots, and it seems like I was getting more consistent, less-shock hits when I hit the ball near the heel of the iron.

The "sweet spot" is the 4th groove near the center of the club, closer to the heel. The reason you felt like you were hitting a better shot of the heel is because the weight of the club is centered closer to the heel. This promotes a more "solid" feeling shot, and gives you better distance and direction control. The club is designed to hit closer to the heel, where the weight is centered. This also promotes an "inside out" or "inside square inside" club path which is central to a good golf shot. In other words, the club is designed to hit closer to the heel.
