Most Mexicans (and Latin Americans in general) have some Spanish blood (as in from Spain, the country in Europe), and Spaniards are basically white.
Not that I've ever looked into his eyes, but I'll take your word for it.

Becuz mexicans are a mix of spanish and indian blood. So his green eyes would come from the spanish side.

I don't know, maybe the fact he's not fully Mexican? With the fact he's half white? Another probability is that Mexican isn't a race so there is that fact the a nationality doesn't contain certain genetic traits? The conclusion is you would've needed to study Biology more.

He is not 100% mexican and in the Mexican population there are 10% who are white, as in, of pure European descent. A friend of mine is from a border town in Mexico and therefore speaks perfect spanish, although his roots are Irish and German.
Carlos makes an excellent point.
Northern Mexico and especially border states like Coahuila, Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, Matamoros is / are full of light skinned Mexican citizens.
I object to his reference to novelas though as they potray the well off chillangos as the only ones who matter, while mestizos + indios are little more than house help.
I would like to hear Sanchez speak spanish - as that will determine if I consider him mexicano, mestizo or americano.
