Default Does hasim amla belong to the best batsman club...

...including Bradman, sachin, pointing, lara? He was amazing in tests against india. Looked better than so many good batsman at that time.

Bradman is the only one in his club. No one comes close to him

I agree that he is having a tremendous form with the bat atm, but it would be far too early to say that he is as good as the legends you mentioned.

No, he should not. His performance against India this series has been fantastic but it has failed to win the series for SA so it counts only to his stats. If he can consistently reproduce this for, oh, the next seven or eight years, and amass 11 or 12 thousand runs at an average of 55, then he'll be considered amongst Tendulkar, Ponting, Lara etc.

But unless he can produce an average that is way beyond all of these players, then he will never be considered alongside Bradman.

Default Hi Guys

No Vivek I don’t think that you can say Hasim Amla is a good Test batsman, because it is to early in his cricket career to say that he is perfect in test format.

You cannot compare him with guys like Bradman, Sachin, Sangakkara, and Jayewardene because they have a reputation in the world for the test format.

Actually it is early days for him to call that he is a good test batsmen may be after about another 5 years if his figures are reasonable then we could tell that he is a good test batsman.

Thank you,

True greatness in a batsman is the ability to accelerate at will. Viv Richards, The Don, Barry Richards, Greame Pollock, Sobers, Sachin, Lara, Sehwag to name a few. Amla cannot. Look at his strike rate in this Series. He can only hold up one end, but cannot destroy the Bowling like Veeru who in my opinion played the innings that won us the match in Eben Gardens. Can Amla hit a Triple Centuary like Sehwag with the same srtike rate? No. So good that he is he is not a great like Veeru and Sachin.
