Hey I have been skating about since I was 11. I have tested 4 different boards in my skating career and here is my advice.
My first board was a non-name brand (so it wasn't element or baker, etc.) and that board was not as good as all the other ones I got. Bucky Lasek sounds non name brand so I would rather go for a named brand. I have tried element, baker, and black label brands. All of the boards were about 45-55 dollars a piece including grip tape. They all served very well for me and were light, had lots of pop, and a nice curve. If you have a local skateshop next to you it's best to ask them what would be best for you.

Final thing. If you are planning on investing on a whole new board, like trucks wheels bearings and board, then I suggest Grind King trucks, they are good all around trucks, mostly any wheels will do, I personally like bones and element wheels, and Bones reds or bones swiss bearings will be the best and last a long time. Your trucks wheels and bearings should last you for about 2 years maybe if you treat them properly.

Hope this helps
